One of the oldest and biggest department in the faculty of Arts, functioning from the very first day of the college. Department also runs M.A. programme along with entire English B.A. programme.

The department had been headed by the eminant personalities like vinda Karandikar(1947 to 50) and visited by stalwarts like Dr. Bhalchandra Nemade , Dr, R,B.Patankar, Dr. Milind Malashe etc.
